Links to other databases

Thomson Reuters Links offers navigation to a wide range of scholarly information resources including genetic, chemical and patent information:

  • National Center for Biotechnology Information Database links
    Links are available from certain Web of ScienceSM and Medline records within Web of Knowledge to a selection of freely and publically available NCBI hosted databases. Users will also find these links to on shared records in other Web of Knowledge databases to which their institution subscribes.

    CAB Abstracts Full Text Select
    If your institution subscribes to CAB Abstracts on Web of Knowledge, you can access links to hard-to-find material in global agriculture and applied life sciences literature, via CAB Abstracts Full Text Select.
 

Other Thomson Reuters Links Options

Links can also be enabled fromWeb of Knowledge to your library's online public access catalog (OPAC)—integrating additional information resources. Your customized OPAC query can easily be integrated into your account—using ISSN or title.

Open URL Compliance

Link all of your electronic resources and services using OpenURL. You can integrate a link-server as a source of links in Thomson Pharma and most Web of Knowledge products. The link button can also be customized to your institution.

You can provide direct access to links to specific Web of Science records information which users can use to feed your institutional repository. Inbound open URL links to Web of Science provide static records for Web of Science from 1945-2008, related records, citing articles , and JCR Web trend graph results. How to Activate or update your links

Full Text Links

To activate DOI links from subscribed Web of Knowledge databases to the full text, provide a list of your electronic subscriptions. Individual titles are not needed if your subscription covers a full collection/publisher. The list should include full Journal Name, ISSN, Publisher/Aggregator Name, and Start/End Dates when applicable. See a sample spreadsheet. Open an eTicket now.

OpenURL Links

(OpenURL 1.0 compliant for any resolver.) To set up your OpenURL resolver in the Web of Knowledge, submit the base URL of the resolver. If your OpenURL vendor offers a “branded” button/icon/image, submit the URL of the button/icon/image’s graphic file. If you would like to use a button/icon/image of your own design, submit the URL of the button/icon/image’s graphic file. (The suggested size is 55 pixels wide by 20 pixels high (give or take a pixel). If you do not have a button, we do. The rollover text of the button/icon/image can be customized. Open an eTicket now.

OPAC/A-Z List Links

To set up a link to your OPAC or A-Z List from the Web of Knowledge, submit the gateway URL. The link can be set up to search by ISSN or Title. The OPAC link can be named. Open an eTicket now.

Additional information:
  • To track your full text usage you can simply download usage reports from the Web of Knowledge usage reporting system (WURS). Click here for instructions on how to pull this report.
  • If you are currently using a trial of Web of Knowledge you will automatically get links to full text for all DOI titles that we currently provide to customers. We are unable to create custom links to your library's collections.
