Search Web of Science from your desktop!
To put this handy search button on your desktop, simply install Yahoo! Widgets.
Instructions for Installing Yahoo! Widgets:
Note: Some installations require an administrator's ID and password, depending on your privileges.
- Download both the installer and the zipped file of starter Widgets.
Click here to install Yahoo! Widgets
- Launch the installer. After installation, do not start Yahoo! Widgets.
- Unzip the starter Widget zip into My Documents\My Widgets for Microsoft Windows.
- Download the Web of Science widget by clicking the widget at the top of the page. Unzip the Web of Science widget zip file into My Documents\My Widgets for Microsoft Windows.
Now you can start Yahoo! Widgets
Start > Programs > Yahoo! Widgets
What is a widget?
Yahoo! Widgets are small, specific applications that you can run on your Windows or Mac OS desktop.
Since widgets are small, they need other applications to run. The Web of Science widget runs using the
Yahoo! Widget application.
Download the application and a starter set of Widgets to your PC or Mac.
Which systems run Yahoo!Widgets?
The Yahoo! Widgets application and Yahoo! Widgets run on Windows and Macintosh computers:
- The Yahoo! Widgets application for Windows runs on Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows 2000. We recommend that you have the latest service packs and updates for these operating systems.
- The Yahoo! Widgets application for Macintosh runs on any Macintosh computer running Mac OS X 10.3 or greater.
